I am a big J. Cole fan.  I don't remember exactly when I latched on, but it was enough for me to go to the Forest Hills Drive concert alone.  Last night, shortly after midnight, Tidal notified it's subscribers of a near 40 minute documentary (appropriately titled "Eyez") featuring behind-the-scenes footage of J. Cole in the process of creating this album, due on December 9.  Christmas came a little bit early for his fans, because in the midst of the documentary, we were treated to two tracks that are likely to be on this new project.

The first, "Everybody Gotta Die" features the dexterity and technique that J. Cole has become known for.

The OG gatekeep rappers/The would you take a break please rappers/
Bunch of words and ain't saying shit, I hate these rappers/Especially the amateur eight week rappers/Lil whatever, just another short bus rapper/Fake drug dealers turn tour bus trappers/Napoleon complex, you this tall rappers/Get exposed standing next to 6'4" rappers/The streets don't fuck with you, you Pitchfork rappers/Chose  by the white man, you hipster rappers

The second track, "False Prophet" is a glimpse into almost every true hop-hop fan's mind as of late.  It apparently "takes shots" at Kanye and his former genius and current shortcomings while offering words of wisdom to Wale, allegedly, reminding him that being idolized shouldn't be why he's making music. Wise words for us all to remember that we should do what we do for the love of it and be less concerned about the opinions of others while doing so.
